j.w. taylor: Senior Pastor

Dr. J. W. Taylor, Senior Pastor, has been serving at New Market Baptist Church since 1998.

He is originally from Nashville, TN. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for 28 years and they have two daughters, Hannah and Haley. They love ministering together to their church and community. Before coming to NMBC, J. W. served churches in  Florida and Georgia. He has an undergraduate degree from The Baptist College of Florida, Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jake barton: minister of students

Jake has been serving as Minister of Students since 2022. Jake studied for and received his undergraduate degree at Union University and his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to his wife, Alexandra, and they have one daughter, Emilia. They love to serve youth and college students and worship Jesus alongside their church family.

Crystal Day: Administrative Assistant


Crystal has been serving as the Administrative ASSISTANT FOR

New MArket BAptist Church since 2012. Crystal is married to Craig Day and they have four beautiful children, Georgia, Kendall, Asher , and Jonah. CRYSTAL LOVES SPENDING TIME WITH HER FAMILY AND IS THANKFUL TO BE ABLE TO SERVE OTHERS THROUGH HER WORK.

NEW MARKET BAPTIST CHURCH SINCE NOVEMBER 2015. CRAIG IS ALSO THE PRINCIPAL OF JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. CRAIG IS MARRIED TO

CRYSTAL DAY AND THEY HAVE FOUR WONDERFUL CHILDREN. CRAIG ENJOYS SPENdING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY, FOOTBALL, AND SINGING PRAISES TO THE lORD.


Gary Howard: Maintenance Supervisor

gary howard is a graduate of Jefferson county high school and grew up in new market. gary is married to misty and they have one daughter, Victoria. gary and his family live in grainger county.

gary enjoys spending time with his family. gary  joined the staff of

new market Baptist church in 2013. he is blessed to be able to serve his church family.
